Preparation for Insulation and Waterproofing
I just took this photo of Ollie on roof. He is measuring the ventilation pipe from bathroom sink to put wood around it so that insulation can be contained. The two chimneys have one layer of wood. There is no 1/2" thick wood. So Ollie has to make all the wood he uses a half inch thick. This has to be added to the wood already on the chimney. These very LARGE screws for this project cost $3.00 a piece!
I'm sorry there is so much shade that you don't see much in this photo!
Tomorrow on Thursday,Brendan,Ollie, Jenna and Mark will put down the insulation and waterproofing. Cross your fingers for decent weather!

Malcolm Wells - Perpetuating His Vision
Deemed the father of modern earth-sheltered architecture, the late Malcolm Wells imagined a future in which society worked with nature, rather than against it. Throughout the restoration of the Underground Art Gallery, those involved are committed to continuing Mr. Wells' work of restoring the earth's surface to a more natural habitat for a sustainable future.
