Installing The Insulation and Waterproofing
The "crew" are laying the insulation. Brendan Shea and Mark Winterer from Recover Green Roofs. Pete Ellis, Oliver Solmitz and Jenna Halloran.
As you can see Work was done from 7:30 A.M. until 6 P.M.last Thursday.
The insulation is aqua color and you can see the waterproofing which looks white towards the front of the gallery.
After the six or seven inch snowfall on Saturday, Ollie shoveled a layer of snow off the gallery so that it would melt faster in time for the finishing work on Wednesday. We are getting two warmer days in the upper forties on Monday and Tuesday(Jan 23 and 24, 2012) with some rain which will help melt the snow.
You can see that the chimneys were covered with tarps until waterproofing is attached to them.
More photos when more work is done!

Malcolm Wells - Perpetuating His Vision
Deemed the father of modern earth-sheltered architecture, the late Malcolm Wells imagined a future in which society worked with nature, rather than against it. Throughout the restoration of the Underground Art Gallery, those involved are committed to continuing Mr. Wells' work of restoring the earth's surface to a more natural habitat for a sustainable future.
