Urgent News
This Saturday and Sunday we are asking people to help us take the earth off the gallery. Brendan Shea from www.recovergreenroofs.com came down to consult with us again about the waterproofing of the gallery. He said that after meeting with two most trusted and experienced flat roof specialists, that they said to take entire roof off. As you can see, half the roof is off now. Brendan said that they could repair it now somewhat like a band-aid and have it last five or ten years but it could last 50 to 100 years with the state-of-the-art underground roof membrane.
So I will be providing a lunch of food and beverage for anyone who would like to help dig. Time is of the essence with winter approaching. If anyone would like to help Dec,10 and 11 2011 please contact the gallery 508-896-3757 or Oliver(Ollie) Solmitz
207-890-7837. Thank you!

Malcolm Wells - Perpetuating His Vision
Deemed the father of modern earth-sheltered architecture, the late Malcolm Wells imagined a future in which society worked with nature, rather than against it. Throughout the restoration of the Underground Art Gallery, those involved are committed to continuing Mr. Wells' work of restoring the earth's surface to a more natural habitat for a sustainable future.
